Watching the Supreme Court

The first Monday in October is the traditional start of the Supreme Court term. This year the court held its first session of the 2009-2010 term on September 9. The official web site of the Supreme Court will tell you about their calendar, and the cases on the court docket, read the opinions of the Supreme Court, including the transcripts of oral arguments before the court and a Guide for Counsel which advises attorneys how to present their case to the justices.

There are several blogs dedicated to the happenings on the court and the impact that court decisions have on our lives. Two that stand out are the Election law blog and the SCOTUS blog.

Then there are some local law blogs like the Illinois Issues blog, and the Illinois State Bar Association web site that track Illinois state issues.
