No Prescription Drug Coverage?

Pick up a free Prescription Discount Drug card at the Glenview Public library, 1930 Glenview Road in the Reference Department.
This free card is available to all Cook County residents and can provide an average of 20 per cent savings on prescription drugs with no income requirements, no age requirements, and unlimited use for the whole family.
Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have insurance for prescription drugs, you may still benefit from the discount card, since it may save you money on prescription drugs your existing plan does not cover. Link to www.cookcountygov.com/prescription for more information.

Glenview Veterans Oral History Project

A reception in the Maynard Room, 2-4 PM on March 14, will honor the veterans who participated in the Glenview Veterans Oral History (GVOH) Project, as well as the students and teachers from Glenbrook South High School who worked with the Library on it.

The following Animoto slide-show includes a selection of photos from some of the GVOH interviews.

Historic pictures brought by the veterans are seen along with pictures taken the day of their interview, in which the veteran is seen with the students.

We thank the American Legion's Joseph M. Sesterhenn Post #166, the Glenview History Center, and Glenbrook South High School for partnering with the Library on this project.

Illinois State Treasurer Cash Dash

The State Treasurer’s Office currently has $1.4 billion in lost, forgotten or abandoned cash and assets that belongs to 10 million Illinois residents. Some of this so-called “unclaimed property” could be yours.

Twice a year, the office publicizes the last known owner and address for each new property that is over $100. The names are kept in our online Cash Dash database forever. Recently, the Treasurer’s Office published the names of 66,492 new owners of unclaimed property owners in various news papers throughout the state.

In 2009, the Treasurer’s Office returned nearly $83 million in lost funds and assets to more than 39,000 Illinois residents and businesses statewide.

To find out if you or someone you know has unclaimed property, please visit www.cashdash.net.
