November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

The American Diabetes Association web site has information and resources for diabetes prevention and treatment. Many Americans are unaware that nearly 26 million children and adults are living with diabetes and another 79 million are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Many do not consider diabetes to be a serious ailment yet each year diabetes kills more people than breast cancer and AIDS combined. For more information on diabetes and other health topics you can take advantage of the online collection of books, journals, magazines and newspapers through the Glenview Public Library's online services page for articles from EBSCO Health Source for consumer or academic level or other online indexes. Glenview residents with a Glenview Public Library card can use most of our Online Services from home by logging in with their library bar code number.
