Join members of Glenview's Natural Resources Commission for the 19th annual Chicago River Day. Volunteers will help clean up the West Fork of the Chicago River. Meet in the Kohl's parking lot south of Willow Road on Saturday, May 14 from 9 AM to noon. Free t-shirts will be given to all volunteers; work gloves and trash bags will be provided. Be sure to stop by the Library during National Library Week, a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association. We have many fun and interesting events planned to celebrate our Library, including a musical performance by Michael Smith, a book discussion, and a book presentation/signing. Storytelling workshops on Saturday April 16 include Puppet University, writing a great college essay, and starting your own YouTube channel. Free paper shredding for up to 25 pounds of material will be available Saturday, April 9, at the 800 Waukegan Rd Glenview State Bank facility. Hours are 9 a.m. to Noon.
