Battery, Medicine Drop-Off

Residents can get rid of used batteries and unwanted medications from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 3 at Glenview Village Hall, 1225 Waukegan Road. Through the battery recycling program, any rechargeable NiCd, NiMh, lithium ion, lithium polymer or household alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, D or 9V) can be dropped off. Unwanted and leftover medications must be in original containers with labels attached. Personal information can be blacked out. Sharps (needles or lancets) must be in proper containers, which can be provided. Both programs are done in conjunction with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, with the goal of properly disposing of these items so they don't end up contaminating our water supply or landfills.
