Mosquito Control

Abandoned outdoor swimming pools containing untreated water are a significant habitat for breeding mosquitoes in our area. The mosquito abatement districts that serve Glenview want to know about neglected swimming pools, especially if stagnant water has been standing for a week or more. Unmaintained swimming pools may produce thousands of mosquitoes, as can water standing in containers such as birdbaths, flower pots and clogged rain gutters.

Please notify the mosquito abatement district to report standing water, as well as sick or dead birds. Most of Glenview is included in the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (847-446-9434). The area south of Central Road and west of Washington Road is included in the Northwest Mosquito Abatement District (847- 537-2306).
