January 17 is Ditch Your New Year's Resolution Day

How long do you keep your New Year's resolutions? Evidently, there are some of us who don't keep them for long, because today is "Ditch New Year's Resolutions Day!"

A FranklinCovey survey revealed that 35 percent of resolvers break their New Year's resolutions by the end of January. About 40 percent of those say they just have too many other things to do.

Losing weight and quitting smoking are always among the top New Year's resolutions. For 2013, here are the other eight resolutions that round out the Top 10: drink less, learn something new, maintain a better work/life balance, volunteer, save money, get organized, read more and finish those around the house to-do lists.
Don't give up too soon.  Experts vary on their assessment of how long it takes to break a bad habit or establish a new good habit.  Good luck!
