Construction on Glenview Road

UPDATE: The start date for this project has been postponed to May 12th with an estimated completion date towards the end of June, 2014.

Beginning April 30, Glenview Road between Church Street and Harlem Avenue will be closed to one lane of traffic, westbound only. Eastbound traffic will be detoured at Glenview Road/Harlem Avenue south to Dewes Street to travel eastbound to Waukegan Road.
Replacement of existing water main and water services, as well as installation of water main piping under the railroad tracks should be completed early June, 2014. When completion of the underground utility work is finished, the road will be patched with asphalt and landscape restored to its original condition.

Pay It Forward Day

Today is an important day for kindness.  Pay It Forward Day was started in 2007 in Australia and is based on the book, Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde which was later made into a motion picture.  The concept of paying it forward embodies the power of giving unselfishly with no expectation of reward or recognition.  Paying it Forward as a concept proves time and time again that kindness can have remarkable results.  Here are some examples of how you pay it forward.  Or check out the novel or the DVD to be inspired.
