How Many People in the World?

The US Census Bureau has projected statistics for the US and world populations on New Year's Day, 2018.  The US expects one birth every 8 seconds, and the world estimate is 4.3 births every second.  See more population statistics here, and check out the World Population Clock.

2017 Holiday Season in Figures from the US Census Bureau


The holiday season is a time for gathering and celebrating with family and friends, gift-giving, reflection and thanks. To commemorate this time of year, the U.S. Census Bureau presents this jolly list of holiday-related facts and figures from its collection of statistics.

Senior Housing Assistance

The 2018 Village Senior Housing Assistance Program is designed to help Glenview residents with their property taxes or rent. The Village of Glenview has approved up to $1,999 per year toward rent or property taxes for qualifying Glenview senior citizens.

Recipients must be at least 62 years old, and have lived within the corporate limits of the Village for at least two years. For a one-person household, total yearly income must be below $18,090. For a two-person household, total yearly income must be below $24,360.

Completed applications, including all required documentation, will be accepted until 5:00 PM on February 9, 2018. Return completed applications to Glenview Village Hall, Senior Services, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026.
