Senior Housing Assistance

The 2017 Village Senior Housing Assistance Program is designed to help Glenview residents with their property taxes or rent. The Village of Glenview has approved up to $1,960 per year toward rent or property taxes for qualifying Glenview senior citizens. Applications are available for pickup at:
  • Glenview Village Hall, 2500 East Lake Avenue
  • Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Road
  • North Shore Senior Center, 161 Northfield Road, Northfield
  • Glenview Senior Center, 2400 Chestnut Avenue

Completed applications, including all needed documentation, will be accepted from February 6 through 10, 2017. Recipients must be at least 62 years old and have lived within the corporate limits of the Village for at least two years. For a one-person household, total yearly income must be below $17,655.

There are multiple to ways access free library materials through our web site www.glenviewpl.org using your library card number to login from home.

MyMediaMall has eBooks and eAudioBooks in both fiction and non-fiction.

Hoopla has music and movies for streaming.

Zinio and Press Reader have magazines and newspapers in full page format for reading online.

So when it's too cold to leave home to visit the library do not despair. Use the internet, visit the library web page and look for Downloadables and the 24 Hour Library.
